Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu or from the Dock. Click the checkbox next to Use Enhanced Dictation. (You may need to scroll down.) Go to Dictation on the right, then turn it on. To activate Dictation: If your Mac is running OS X Sierra, click System Preferences > Keyboard > Dictation. This is basically copy of the commands in Preferences → Accessibility → Voice Control → Commands…, but has the advantage of being text/HTML, so it’s searchable. Voice Control is off by default, so you must turn it on to use it. Turn on Dictation On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar.
